I had to write this in the blog. I saw Norbit on saturday. Don't you ever watch it.
I went with my friends to the cinema hall with no particular movie in mind. We reached Odeon and we had to choose between Norbit, Ghost Rider or Becoming Jane. No one was really sure of which movie to watch, so people were saying they want to watch GhostRider, but they do not mind Norbit etc.
I didn't want us to waste anymore time, so I told my friends that if no one is sure of what to watch, lets watch Norbit. BIG MISTAKE.
I spent 100 minutes of my precious time in boredom. It was supposed to be a comedy but all I could laugh at was Eddie Murphy who plays Norbit/the wife/ Mr. Wong. She is called Rasputia!!! She is humungous. She has flab and fat all over her body. She is ugly.
Thandie Newton comes in trying to rescue the film but she fails. Cuba Gooding Jr. has a short role and is ok.
I got the feeling that Eddie Murphy was trying to show off his acting skills and his impresseive chinese accent. The movie is funny in parts with the best scene coming in the middle, when Rasputia shows that she is no chicken when it comes to having fun on a water slide. Imagine 500 pounds of fat coming at you from the top of a looooong water slide. You cannot? Good, don't even try to. It is totally stupid. Stupid Stupid Stupid...and I cannot believe Eddie Murphy was allowed to release this movie.
No wonder, it has a rating of 2.8 at IMDB. ( http://imdb.com/title/tt0477051/ )
I do not think I will ever be forgiven by my friends for taking me on the most boring 100 minutes of their life. It was even boring than normal uni lectures!!. But, mistakes happen. Norbit? It should be renamed to a definite..No hit.
